Troy Holtorf
Troy came to know the Lord later in life at the age of 30. Though Troy did not grow up in a Christian home, he was raised in a healthy family environment where he was taught to have integrity, maintain good morals, and to work hard. After high school, Troy attended Grand Canyon University, where he was first exposed to the gospel. After college however, Troy began to search for fulfillment in all the wrong places. He became self-absorbed and selfish. It was during this time that God saved Troy. Finding no satisfaction in the worldly things he was pursuing, God humbled Troy and enabled him to repent of his sins and trust in Christ for salvation. Since that time, Troy has seen the goodness of God in every aspect of life. God transformed every area of Troy’s life, and gave him the fulfillment that can be found in Christ alone.
Troy has been on the Phoenix Fire Department for seventeen years and holds certificates of completion for levels 1, 2, and 3 from the Institute of Biblical Counseling and Discipleship. He is eager to provide biblical counseling to firefighters because he knows that permanent, lasting change is found in Christ alone. As he sees others in the fire service going through much of what he experienced prior to his salvation, Troy longs to expend himself for their benefit. He wants them to experience the same life-changing power of the gospel that he has, so that they might live lives for the glory of God, and find their fulfillment and joy in Him alone.
